Top Picks at the LA Auto Show 2013
Just like any other automotive enthusiasts, ZadCars would never miss the LA Auto Show 2013 for nothing. For this was anticipated to be one of the biggest unveiling of the newest cars from the hottest brands all over the world. And to be honest, it was and it didn’t disappoint.
There are more than 50 new car models to love in the LA Auto Show 2013 but there are few that really leave a mark and deserve extra attention. ZadCars has round up our Top 10 picks for this year’s auto show. You may be surprise with some of our choices but I assure you, our top picks are not purely based on looks. We make it a point that our top picks are not just good-looking but also have good features that will please the riders.
2015 Nissan GT-R Nismo
This fourth generation, high performance car by the iconic Japanese maker was unveiled by the none other than the fastest man in the planet, Usain Bolt. Nismo has lower front and rear bumper for better car aerodynamics. It is powered by a 3-liter V6 engine that can produce a monstrous 600 horsepower and 481 pounds of torque, and it can go from 0-60 in a matter of 2 seconds. These features go perfectly with the car’s suede-trimmed sports seats, redesigned steering wheel, gauges, pedal and gear knob.
2014 BMW i8
Just one look and it was clear why the 2014 BMW i8 was awarded the “Design of the Year” by one of known automobile magazines in US. I can’t get my eyes and hands off this hybrid beauty. This all-wheel-drive, dramatic coupe boasts of its glass-panelled gullwing doors, sleek aluminium-and-carbon fibre body and its hybrid turbocharged three-cylinder gasoline engine and a plug-in electric motor. There were talks running around that the first batch of 2014 BMW i8 are already sold out even before its mid-2014 market launch.
2014 Bentley Mulsanne
If you are looking for a more classic design, well, the 2014 Bentley Mulsanne will not disappoint. This 4-door luxury car features distinctly Bentley curves, expansive hood and hand-crafted interior. The 2014 Bentley Mulsanne boasts of a powerful 6.75-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine that produces 505 horsepower and 752 pound-feet of torque. This car is all about performance, comfort, elegance and space.
2015 Jaguar F-Type Coupe
This will make you love Jaguar more than ever. A powerful and stunning supercar, the 2015 Jaguar F-Type Coupe is designed with a 5-liter supercharged V8 engine tuned to 550 horsepower that can reach 0-60 mph in just 4 seconds, flat. Top speed is at 186 mph. It has a smooth hard top that creates smooth, continuous line from the windshield all the way up to the back, for an exclusive, sleek look.
2015 Porsche 918 Spyder
Another straight-from-the-racing-video-game car is the 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder. This sports car has the genetic blue print of what a sports car should be: supreme performance, exceptional sustainability with minimum consumption. Design with a V8 engine and electric motor, this hybrid Spyder is more efficient than its competition and offers a system of adjustable aerodynamic elements.
2015 Audi A3 E-Tron
Say hello to the new 2015 Audi A3 E-Tron 4-door hatchback. This small, compact luxury car can easily compete with other makes. It is armed with 1.4L turbocharged engine integrated with 100hp e-motor and six-speed automatic transmission with combined output of 201hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. A small yet powerful car, it is equipped with Bluetooth connectivity, leather seats, panoramic sunroof and xenon headlights. The 2015 Audi A3 E-Tron is something you don’t want to miss, it will be available in early 2014.
2014 Dodge SRT Viper GTS Anodized Carbon
This limited edition Dodge has made its way to the LA Auto Show last week. This Anodized Carbon supercar exudes a sinister boldness inside and out. A pure luxury, that’s how I can describe 2014 Dodge SRT Viper GTS. And it’s not all about looks, this monster boasts of an all-aluminium 8.4-liter, mid-front V-10 overhead-valve engine with performance ratings of 640 horsepower and 600 lb.-ft. of torque. At first glance; this car looks more like a batman car, without the sharp edges and deadly contraptions.
Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo Concept
The first booth that catches my attention was that of Mercedes-Benz. As a car enthusiast and gaming aficionado, the AMG Vision Gran Turismo Concept car took my breath away. It looks as if it has driven straight out of the video game. The body is long and wide and very low. It has that voluptuous curves and aggressive boldness of a racing car. Too bad this is only a concept car and will not be manufactured anytime in the near future. The Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo Concept was created mainly for the racing simulation for PlayStation 3 Gran Turismo Racing Game that was created by Kazunori Yamauchi.
Subaru Legacy Concept
This car looks good in every angle. It uses pouncing, clean lines that forms a coupe-like silhouette. This is a handsome 4-door midsize sedan that has 21-inch wheels, angular headlights and solid hexagonal three-bar grille front and center. Others may have their doubts but hopefully Subaru can make a real car that is as good-looking as this Legacy Concept.
Honda FCEV Concept Car
This is another to-watch-out-for car from Honda. The FCEV Concept Car is a fuel-cell powered car for 2015. This futuristic looking car has space good enough for 5 people. A power-dense car that can refuel faster than electric cars and promises a 300 miles range. Honda VP said that, for future production, the Honda FCEV may not exactly look like this concept car. However, I think it would be cool to drive a fuel-cell powered car that looks like this substantial beast.
